About the Role

As a Specialist Planner, you will be responsible for planning all project activities, setting decision moments and turnaround times, and constructing project plans. You will identify opportunities and threats, provide reports to project managers, and play a leading role in projects. You will report to project management and produce monthly project reports as part of the Airports and Parcels Operations Team.

Responsibilities

  • Set priorities, identify problems, and resolve them through a multidisciplinary approach.
  • Be involved in every phase of a project, from engineering and supply to commissioning.
  • Work closely with other disciplines, including sales, project management, project engineering, and the supply chain.
  • Maintain an overview of the consequences of differences between project management expectations and supply chain possibilities.
  • Ensure successful project completion.
  • Effectively translate project scope into an overall project plan, sometimes with minimal input.
  • Identify the critical path, opportunities, and risks in a project plan.
  • Coordinate project plans with customers and subcontractors for an integrated plan.
  • Liaise with all internal and external project parties.
  • Report project progress to the relevant Project Manager.
  • Analyze and provide advice on overall project plans.
  • Prepare complex plans in consultation with project team members, subcontractors, suppliers, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to more junior team members.
  • Lead one or multiple complex projects and build programs from scratch.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7+ years of Planning experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a Senior planning role.
  • Expert Primavera 6 knowledge is essential.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise at different levels.
  • Ability to involve people and convince them of the importance of sharing and receiving information.
  • Ability to lead the planning function on complex projects.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Ability to work under time pressure and set priorities appropriately.
  • Excellent understanding of the NEC process.
  • Understanding of technical planning techniques such as cost loading and critical path analysis.
  • Experience throughout the project life cycle (tender to completion).
  • Experience of working in a project organization.
