About the Role

This is a new opportunity for a US Corporate Tax Manager / Senior Manager to join our London US Tax team, supporting the organization's growth. The role involves leading US corporate tax compliance and advisory projects for UK-based multinational clients.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on US corporate tax compliance and advisory projects for UK-based multinational clients.
  • Manage preparation and review of US federal and state corporate tax returns, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Provide technical guidance on cross-border tax issues, including transfer pricing, repatriation strategies, and BEPS-related matters.
  • Interpret and apply US tax legislation, IRS guidance, and relevant case law to client situations.
  • Advise on US GAAP and ASC 740 tax accounting implications for corporate clients.
  • Support clients with US tax audits and liaise with IRS/state authorities when required.
  • Identify opportunities to expand US tax services within existing client portfolios.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop junior staff within the tax team.
  • Collaborate with UK corporate tax, international tax, and transfer pricing specialists to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with internal risk management policies and professional standards.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of US tax developments and communicate changes to clients and colleagues.

Requirements

  • 3-6 years’ post-qualified experience in US corporate tax, ideally gained in a mid or top-tier accountancy firm.
  • Previously been a designated signer for US returns.
  • Strong technical knowledge of US Tax return procedures.
  • Generalist experience across UK & US tax procedures or a specific US tax focus.
  • Deep knowledge of US federal and state corporate tax legislation.
  • Experience of communicating with the IRS regarding client matters.
  • Proven track record of managing complex US tax compliance and advisory projects for multinational clients.
  • Experience with ASC 740 tax accounting and US GAAP reporting.
  • Familiarity with international tax issues, including double tax treaties and OECD guidelines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly.
  • Strong client relationship management and business development abilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing teams and developing junior staff.
  • Commercially aware, proactive, and able to identify opportunities for clients and the firm.
  • High level of integrity and commitment to professional standards.
