About the Role

The 'Queere Schutzwohnung' project provides anonymous, temporary accommodation for queer individuals facing or threatened by physical and psychological violence within their social environment due to their sexual orientation or gender identity. After ensuring safety, the multidisciplinary team offers psychosocial counseling, support, and social work to help individuals plan for a self-determined and violence-free future.

Responsibilities

On-call duty in the facility on holidays and weekends (daytime, fixed shifts by arrangement) and vacation replacements
Initial point of contact in exceptional situations or conflict situations
Assessing situations and initiating follow-up steps if necessary (e.g., consultation with project management or specialized services)
No assumption of core psychosocial care or case responsibility
Regular documentation and evaluation of work processes

Requirements

Currently studying Social Work / Social Pedagogy or comparable qualification with relevant professional experience
Experience in social pedagogical work, ideally in supporting victims of violence
Sensitivity to the life realities of LGBTI* persons, especially in the context of domestic violence, relationship violence, and multiple discrimination
Knowledge in low-threshold, socially-oriented social work is an advantage
Teamwork skills, structured work, resilience, and professional handling of crisis situations
Basic English language skills are mandatory, further language skills are an advantage

About the Company

The association is active at federal and state levels, and internationally as a non-governmental organization with official consultative status at the United Nations.
The LSVD is represented in all federal states, with Berlin and Brandenburg forming a joint state association.
The LSVD Verband Queere Vielfalt Berlin-Brandenburg gives a strong voice to the interests of queer people in Berlin and Brandenburg in politics and society.

Our social services are provided under the umbrella of the Bildungs- und Sozialwerk des LSVD Berlin-Brandenburg (BLSB) e.V.
Over 28 part-time and full-time employees are committed to the well-being of the queer community in the various projects of BLSB e.V.
