About the Role
The Facade Designer is a key member of the global design team, responsible for contributing to the growth of facade design capabilities. This role involves managing design, documentation, and compliance for facade and interdisciplinary projects while ensuring high technical standards and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Produce facade system details based on architectural sketches and assist in delivering tender packages
- Provide 2D drafting using AutoCAD for architectural documentation and working drawings
- Provide 3D drafting using AutoCAD, Rhino, Revit, Solidworks, or Sketchup Pro for design development
- Interpret and produce fabrication-level detailed drawings, sketches, and written instructions
- Prepare facade technical specifications
- Coordinate with relevant parties to resolve project-related issues affecting documentation delivery
- Maintain internal document control and follow established drawing protocols
- Review design deliverables for buildability and compliance
- Manage time to ensure production of deliverables within agreed timelines and budgets
- Monitor design output from regional offices and review contractor shop drawings
- Liaise with staff, project teams, consultants, and clients to determine best design outcomes
- Participate in design workshops with clients, architects, and contractors
- Provide training to team members and develop personal skills in design and engineering
- Maintain knowledge of design techniques, standards, and codes of practice
- Evaluate opportunities for continuous improvement in systems and processes
- Ensure projects are completed on-time and without cost overrun
- Communicate with clients to establish needs and maintain project dialogue
- Prevent non-conformity in design documentation and quality systems
- Ensure project documentation adheres to the Quality Management System
- Participate in educational programs and skill-based training
- Use and maintain Personal Protective Equipment
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and report hazards or injuries
- Abide by the company Code of Conduct
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a facade designer role
- Ability to travel to various work locations throughout the Middle East
- Proficiency in technical skills required for the job
- Ability to maintain performance under pressure
- Strong analytical, planning, and time management skills
