Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and deploy robust, scalable, high-performance services in Go.
  • Expose backend endpoints through GraphQL, focusing on efficient data fetching and query optimization.
  • Maintain full visibility across the backend, understanding the connection between Go and Java services.
  • Build event-driven solutions on Kafka for data flow, system reactivity, and reliability.
  • Utilize LLM and agentic tools to accelerate development while maintaining ownership and understanding of generated code.
  • Address the complexities of time management, processing, and presentation across global time zones.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Professional experience designing, building, and shipping production-ready backend services in Go.
  • Ability to read, debug, and understand multi-language codebases, including tracing logic through existing Java services.
  • Hands-on experience with distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architectures on Kafka.
  • Experience designing and serving APIs, preferably GraphQL.
  • Advanced use of modern AI-assisted engineering tools for backend testing, generation, and architecture validation (nice to have).
  • Experience with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes (nice to have).
  • Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and distributed system design (nice to have).
  • Must be based in Germany with full right to work; visa sponsorship and relocation support are not available.
