About the Role
Urban Outfitters is seeking an Assistant Garment Technologist for their Womenswear team. This role is integral to the product lifecycle, ensuring high standards of garment quality, fit, and functionality. You will manage technical aspects from concept to completion, collaborating with designers, buyers, and suppliers while upholding compliance, ethical standards, and commercial viability.
Responsibilities
- Manage product classes, performing technical and investigative work to ensure optimal product delivery.
- Conduct garment fittings with live models, offering technical support and problem-solving to designers and buyers.
- Ensure garments meet customer expectations for quality and fit.
- Assess fabric and construction risks for suitability to end use.
- Communicate effectively with the global supply chain and build vendor relationships.
- Onboard new factories according to Urban Outfitters' standards.
- Manage the factory base, including ethical compliance and supply chain visibility.
- Maintain department standards.
- Make commercial decisions.
- Approve and analyze test reports.
- Report on and analyze quality control and product returns.
- Deliver projects in line with business requirements.
