About the Role
Join the kitchen team at the newly designed Restaurant K&B in the Courtyard by Marriott Berlin City Center. We are seeking a motivated Sous Chef to support our culinary operations in both à-la-carte and banquet settings, working closely with the Executive Chef to drive team development.
Responsibilities
- Deputize for the Executive Chef in kitchen management
- Ensure smooth operations across all kitchen stations and the stewarding area
- Perform operational duties across all shifts and various stations
- Assist in planning and executing events, buffets, and menus
- Contribute to menu and offer development for the restaurant and banquet
- Lead, mentor, and motivate the kitchen team
- Organize kitchen workflows and assist with shift and vacation scheduling
- Monitor inventory, orders, food costs, and stock levels
- Ensure compliance with hygiene, quality, and safety standards
Requirements
- Completed vocational training as a chef
- Several years of professional experience in upscale gastronomy or hospitality
- Previous experience in a leadership role such as Sous Chef or experienced Chef de Partie
- Passion for modern, creative cuisine
- Strong quality awareness
- Leadership, organizational, and accountability skills
- Structured, independent, and solution-oriented work style
- Flexibility regarding working hours including early and late shifts
- Good German language skills
- Basic English language skills
