About the Role
Mott MacDonald is seeking a Materials Engineer to ensure project material compliance with specifications and approvals from relevant authorities.
Responsibilities
- Review and approve contractor's proposed materials and methods as instructed by the Senior Resident Engineer.
- Provide general oversight of the contractor's daily activities, including works assignments, on-site performance, and guidance on operations.
- Attend and lead site inspections as required.
- Follow up on testing and approvals from relevant authorities.
- Review contractor's testing requests and completed reports.
- Review and approve contractor's submissions.
- Monitor the performance of material delivery and accuracy of materials used on site.
- Coordinate with contractor's supervisory personnel regarding schedule, sequence, and method of work.
- Ensure and monitor compliance with the contractor's schedule.
- Conduct continuous field inspections of work in progress and consult with Resident Engineer's and Contractor's supervision staff.
- Prepare reports to the Resident Engineer on contractual and procedural matters.
Requirements
- Experience in large construction programs and design-and-build contracts.
- Proven experience working on large infrastructure and/or Landscape projects in the region.
- Good knowledge of local materials standards.
- Operate ethically and with integrity, prioritizing safety and security.
- Ability to prioritize, advocate focus, and accountability.
- Use clear and frequent communication to drive execution and results.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
