About the Role
As a Senior Claims Consultant, you will play a critical role in delivering fair, timely, and high-quality Life Risk claims outcomes for customers. This role manages complex and high-risk claims with care, consistency, and sound judgement, while upholding Zurich’s claims philosophy and risk standards. You will also contribute by sharing technical expertise, supporting the development of others, and improving processes.
Responsibilities
- Managing complex and high-risk Life Risk claims within delegated authority.
- Making evidence-based claims decisions aligned to policy terms and Zurich’s claims philosophy.
- Monitoring and managing claims risk, including financial exposure and compliance obligations.
- Delivering strong customer outcomes without compromising assessment standards.
- Providing technical guidance and mentoring to claims consultants and administrators.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across claims processes and practices.
Requirements
- Ideally, at least 5 years’ experience assessing Retail Life Risk claims, including complex or high-value claims.
- Strong technical capability across the full claims lifecycle, including coverage, evaluation, and policy interpretation.
- Sound knowledge of medical, legal, product, and regulatory considerations, including the Life Insurance Code of Practice (LICOP).
- Proven ability to exercise judgement and settle claims within delegated authority.
- Experience coaching, mentoring, or providing technical support to others.
- Confidence using claims systems and data to manage risk and drive quality outcomes.
- Proven experience working collaboratively within a team environment and engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
