About the Role

GE Vernova Grid Solutions is electrifying the world with advanced grid technologies and accelerating the transition to a more energy-efficient grid. This role is crucial for managing the complete Civil Construction scope of large-scale HVDC projects, contributing to the energy transition in Central Europe.

Responsibilities

• Implement, monitor, record, and report EHS performance in line with GEV standards.
• Monitor key construction activities to ensure contractor compliance with contract requirements and Quality Plans.
• Prepare the RfQ and select a Civil Subcontractor.
• Prepare staffing plans, manage site team mobilization, and track budget & costs.
• Develop & Plan site infrastructure and ensure the Construction Operating Rhythm is deployed.
• Coordinate construction activities with internal stakeholders and the customer.
• Collaborate with the design office to ensure timely issuance of specifications, designs, BOQs, and material lists.
• Monitor, record, and report contractor work progress.
• Publish progress reports and provide key inputs for monthly project reports.
• Identify and manage risks and opportunities related to construction and commissioning activities.

Requirements

• Civil Engineering qualification with 5–10 years of experience, or equivalent background in construction execution and site management.
• Proven experience as a Construction Manager on large substation projects, or similar projects in Power Generation or the Oil & Gas business.
• Strong health and safety mindset aligned with international standards.
• Solid knowledge of German construction standards.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to provide clear verbal and written reporting in German and English.
• Proactive mindset with the ability to recommend and approve corrective actions.
• Willingness to travel within Germany (app. 20 %, depending on project phase).
