About the Role
We are looking for an FPGA developer to join our expert team at a client in the radio and communications industry. You will work on exciting projects and future-oriented technologies with passion and team spirit.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the implementation of products in the Technology Cluster High Power (Broadcast, Plasma Generation).
- Develop and maintain FPGA-based SoC embedded real-time systems.
- Design, simulate, and implement FPGA logic (VHDL/Verilog) for specialized hardware function blocks.
- Develop necessary embedded software (e.g., under Linux or Bare-Metal) for SoC soft/hardcore processors.
- Analyze requirements and develop solution concepts in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
- Verify functionality and efficiency of developed components through continuous simulations and hardware validation.
- Collaborate closely with hardware and software development colleagues to ensure smooth integration of FPGA components.
- Analyze and refactor/optimize legacy code.
- Drive standardization and reuse of software/firmware with developers, DevOps, testers, and architects, utilizing AI tools.
- Share knowledge of new trends, technologies, methods, and tools with the team and integrate them into daily work.
Requirements
- Completed degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a comparable field of study or apprenticeship.
- Several years of experience in FPGA design development with VHDL or Verilog.
- Familiarity with the design flow of SoC projects and FPGA technologies.
- Experience in embedded software development in modern, object-oriented C++ within a Linux environment using Git for version control.
- Experience with tools like Jenkins/Gitlab CI, Docker, and Robot-Framework is a plus.
- Independent, goal-oriented work style combined with a high degree of teamwork and open communication.
- Independent, structured work approach with strong problem-solving skills.
- Very good written and spoken German and English skills.
