About the Role

HOLOEYE Photonics is seeking an R&D Engineer specializing in Micro-Optics/Diffractive Optics to join their development team in Berlin-Adlershof, Germany. This role involves designing, simulating, and analyzing optical micro- and nanostructures for various applications, contributing to the entire product specification process from customer interaction to manufacturing data preparation.

Responsibilities

  • Design and simulate optical micro- and nanostructures for optical components with dedicated functionalities.
  • Generate manufacturing data for the fabrication of micro- and nano-optical structures.
  • Analyze results from optical and surface characterization measurements to identify optimal process parameters.
  • Develop own optical designs and evaluate their performance after fabrication.
  • Collaborate directly with customers, attend trade fairs and scientific conferences.
  • Contribute to the qualification of manufacturing processes for micro- and nano-optical structures.
  • Perform optical measurements to characterize micro- and nano-optical structures.

Requirements

  • University degree (Bachelor's, Master's, or equivalent) in a STEM discipline.
  • Solid understanding of optical principles.
  • Experience with at least one of the following programming languages: Python, C++, or MATLAB.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to correlate simulation results with experimental data.
  • Structured, self-organized, and systematic approach to work.
  • Thriving in a collaborative team environment and adapting to changing requirements.
  • Fluent English (C2) and strong German skills (B2/C1).
  • Intrinsically motivated, curious, and solution-oriented mindset.
