About the Role
Assessing customer needs and recommending appropriate transformers products via on-time submission of comprehensive techno-commercial proposals or bids that distinguish Hitachi Energy's value proposition in the market. Planning work activities to deliver on designated sales operations tasks in support of achieving defined organization targets for Orders growth.
Responsibilities
- Reviewing tenders and supporting the local sales organization/customers in determining the most technically appropriate and cost-effective solutions and in the preparation of offers.
- Providing technical support during technical meetings, product presentations, negotiations, and offers product/solution/service-related training.
- Preparing or supporting the preparation of comprehensive quality technical/commercial offers based on customer specification requirements, Local Business Unit/feeder factory indications, and Sales organization directives.
- Ensuring the preparation of technical and financial aspects of the offer and costing models, indicating prices and trading conditions.
- Defining items to be included in proposals.
- Supporting the development and maintenance of a detailed understanding of the transformers business strategy and market positioning.
- Preparing various analyses related to market segment, product, and competitors.
- Analyzing customer needs and competitor offers through general market information and information provided by the Sales organization.
- Performing Win/lost proposal analysis, identifying potential causes, and recommending future actions in cooperation with Sales/Local Business Unit to obtain better future results.
- Participating in negotiations with customers on technical, contractual, and commercial content of the proposal.
- Providing information to the risk review process in accordance with Hitachi Energy policy.
- Participating in the risk review assessment as needed.
- Driving and holding accountability for the highest standards of health, safety, and environment to ensure Zero Harm is achieved.
- Attending required health, safety, and environment training.
- Reporting injuries, incidents, hazards, and near miss events.

Requirements
- Degree qualifications in Engineering (electrical) or recognized equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Sales or Tendering Engineer.
- Strong commitment to safe work practices and dedication to following all relevant workplace safety guidelines.
- Strong technical knowledge of Medium and High Voltage Distribution and Power Transformers.
- Critical consulting skills in bid-no bid issues.
- Basic risk review experience.
- Time management, co-ordination, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Ability to perform in a pressure environment.
- A high level of self-motivation, curiosity, and desire to learn about new technologies.
- Deep knowledge and understanding of the electrical engineering industry.
- Estimating and tendering experience (MS Excel based system).
- Sales tools literacy.
- Competent in using SFDC (preferable), MS Word, MS Excel.
- Good communication skills and assertive business acumen.
- Ability to collaborate within the broader business.
- Exceptional communication skills along with interpersonal and negotiation skills.
