About the Role
AJ Bell is seeking a UI Designer to join their Design System team, focusing on shaping the future of their digital platforms. This role involves working across the D2C AJ Bell platform to deliver a large-scale design system for mobile and app, with a strong emphasis on creating and maintaining design system components and asset libraries.
Responsibilities
- Create design system components in Figma, demonstrating a strong understanding of interaction design and UI best practices.
- Produce high-quality, responsive UI designs that balance usability and accessibility with delightful user experiences.
- Produce component documentation and manage design tokens.
- Approach situations through a design systems lens, considering the reusability of design elements and contribute to documentation.
- Contribute to the design system strategy across platforms and support decision-making at the team level.
- Collaborate cross-functionally and play a key role in nurturing team collaboration.
- Make informed decisions during the design process, balancing user needs, business considerations, accessibility compliance, and research.
- Effectively communicate ideas and rationale to team members and stakeholders.
Requirements
- A minimum of 4 years' experience within a UX/UI role.
- Good working understanding of front-end practices and atomic design principles.
- Excellent knowledge of Figma; confident using auto layout, components, variables and managing libraries.
- Good understanding or experience of designing with WCAG or A11y guidelines in mind.
