About the Role

The Lubricant Support Advisor serves as a key point of contact for customers, providing expert guidance on product specifications, applications, and performance characteristics. This role leverages technical expertise to advise customers on proper product selection and usage, troubleshoot technical issues, and provide accurate product information. The advisor is also responsible for logging, managing, and facilitating the resolution of customer complaints and technical inquiries received through the hotline, ensuring a high standard of customer support and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver accurate product advice and technical support regarding lubricants and their applications to customers and sales staff.
  • Assist the internal and external sales force by providing cross-referencing against competitor products to secure market advantages.
  • Respond efficiently to inbound customer enquiries with comprehensive, reliable product information.
  • Respond to incoming customer emails promptly, providing expert technical advice and tailored product recommendations.
  • Guide clients on proper product applications while troubleshooting and resolving concerns professionally.
  • Maintain a high standard of professional communication when addressing technical enquiries and customer issues.
  • Investigate and manage technical complaints from internal and external stakeholders through diligent information gathering.
  • Liaise closely with cross-functional managers and departments to formulate effective, data-driven corrective recommendations.
  • Provide consistent, structured progress updates to stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of the technical dispute.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time.

Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary education.
  • 2+ years of experience in Automotive, and/or Lubricant industry and/or associated similar Industry.
  • Or experience working in an oil laboratory with knowledge of oil testing and physical properties.
  • Technically competent in Lights Vehicle Mechanical Technology or Automotive lubricants or associated similar Industry.
  • Good literacy skills - ability to read product names, codes names etc.
  • Good numeric skills - ability to work with alpha-numeric codes, basic mathematics, weights etc.
  • Sound computer literacy.
  • Excellent communication, information management and problem-solving skills.
  • Embodies the three virtues to be an ideal team player: hungry, humble and smart.
  • Passion for motorsports, cars, and the industry with an enthusiastic disposition to share your knowledge.
  • Applicants must be authorised to work in Australia.
  • Applicants must live in the geographical location of the position.
