About the Role

The Diabetes Sales Associate is responsible for growing sales with healthcare professionals (HCPs) in the assigned territory by developing customer relationships, promoting Abbott’s FreeStyle products, and strengthening market presence. This role is key to achieving sales and profitability objectives and enhancing brand reputation.

Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed sales quotas/objectives for the FreeStyle Libre portfolio.
  • Leverage company-generated targets to prospect for new business and close sales.
  • Collaborate with channel partners within HCP, Managed Care, Retail, and Point of Care organizations.
  • Establish strong relationships with internal and external healthcare constituents.
  • Act with purpose and urgency, engaging in a friendly, respectful manner, focusing on customer needs.
  • Stay current on internal and competitive products and positioning.
  • Develop proficiency in the Company’s sales model to ensure product adoption.
  • Understand and convey information professionally and accurately.
  • Develop business plans with short and long-term actions based on current trends and goals.
  • Stay current on market trends and competitor strategies.
  • Deliver sales results in primary care and endocrinology markets, focusing on CGM and FreeStyle Libre brand awareness and education.
  • Position products and services using confident, convincing logic.
  • Tailor sales approach to meet customer needs.
  • Handle objections tactfully.
  • Develop and implement territory, account, and call plans with goals, action plans, time frames, and resources.
  • Convey information clearly and concisely, listen carefully to understand messages.
  • Track and report progress against plans, redirecting efforts as necessary.
  • Complete administrative tasks accurately and in a timely fashion.
  • Document daily, weekly, and monthly activities using the call reporting/tracking system.
  • Maintain accountability for all samples according to Division guidelines.
  • Work within established quality guidelines for compliance.
  • Implement and maintain the effectiveness of the quality system.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years previous sales experience with a successful sales track record.
  • Excellent communication skills, high energy, integrity, and ambition to succeed.
