About the Role

JLL is seeking an Associate for Hotel Asset Management in Japan. This role will lead the management reporting function for a portfolio of hotels, working with analysts and the Hotel Asset Management team to compile reports, analyze performance, and maximize the use of JLL's BI Tool. The position also involves reviewing and analyzing financial data, maintaining databases, assisting with market research, and potentially traveling to properties.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the management reporting function across client portfolio of hotels, working with analysts.
  • Liaise and coordinate with the Hotel Asset Management team.
  • Lead the compiling of reports/templates and benchmark analysis of weekly, monthly and quarterly operating performance, including P&Ls, cashflow statements, modelling, strategic asset plans, budgets.
  • Maximize JLL’s BI Tool to produce regular reporting.
  • Support additional reporting for Owner(s) or the wider JLL HHG Team.
  • Review, benchmark and analyse hotel-and portfolio-level financial data.
  • Keep informed of market dynamics to develop a strong understanding of hotels and their markets.
  • Update and maintain databases of assets managed by the Japan Market HHG Asset Management team.
  • Assist in market research, data collection and analysis of performance.
  • Monitor news sources for articles on travel trends.
  • Research local government websites for updates on projects, events, travel, subsidy, and employment status.
  • Travel to properties across Japan as needed to inspect facilities, meet with management teams, and tour market areas and competitive sets.
  • Report to the Assigned Manager on daily issues/queries, identified risks or concerns or if requiring assistance.
  • Act as the Key Liaison with VAST to establish and track work progress.
  • Share knowledge and contribute to continual improvement of the Asset Management team.
  • Meet with owners and hotel executive teams to review operating performance, business plans/budgets, and provide cost reduction and revenue enhancement guidance.

  • Knowledge of Real Estate Asset Management.
  • Prior experience in meeting individual and team KPIs.

  • Ability to work within a busy ‘open plan’ office environment and continue to focus on work despite interruptions.

Experience Level

Education Level

  • Tertiary qualifications in Real Estate, Hotel Management, Finance or property related discipline
  • Strong academic credentials with a coursework emphasis on finance, real estate, or related subjects (or demonstrated work experience)

Salary/Compensations

  • Base annual salary includes fixed overtime pay (equivalent to 30 hours per month) for non-management positions.
