Responsibilities
- Manage safe, compliant, and sustainable project delivery, maintaining excellence across quality, cost, programme, and performance standards.
- Provide strategic leadership for project and commercial activities, overseeing contracts, governance, and client outcomes.
- Drive ethical, financially responsible operations, supporting net zero ambitions and delivering value for clients and communities.
- Direct, mentor, and develop high-performing teams, fostering inclusion, continuous improvement, and best practice in cost management.
- Direct commercial and contractual activities, overseeing contract execution, certifications, claims management, and project close-out.
- Direct cost control, valuations, and post-contract reporting, providing clear commercial insight to clients and stakeholders.
- Manage and develop high-performing teams, driving continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence in cost management practices.
- Identify and manage commercial risks, design changes, and carbon reduction opportunities, supporting sustainable project outcomes.
Requirements
- Degree in quantity surveying/cost management (or equivalent)
- Professional membership i.e. MRICS/RICS (or equivalent) and moving towards fellowship, or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
- Strong Bidding and business development experience.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen.
- Sound knowledge of value engineering, life cycle costing, contract law, and contractual frameworks relating to construction.
- Management experience within large, diverse teams.
- Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders.
- Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
