About the Role
As Senior Legal Counsel – Employment, you will play a pivotal role in helping Serco navigate complex employment and industrial relations matters across Australia and the Asia Pacific region. You will provide expert legal guidance that supports strategic business outcomes while minimizing risk. This role involves leading enterprise bargaining activities, representing Serco in employment-related proceedings, and contributing to workplace relations strategies.
Responsibilities
- Leading enterprise bargaining negotiations and industrial relations initiatives
- Representing Serco in conciliations, mediations, hearings and employment disputes
- Advising stakeholders on complex employment law, workplace relations and compliance matters
- Developing and implementing workplace relations strategies aligned to business priorities
- Partnering with operational, People & Culture and leadership teams to manage workplace issues
- Coaching and supporting stakeholders to build employment relations capability across the business
Requirements
- Significant senior-level experience in employment law, industrial relations or workplace relations
- Proven experience negotiating Enterprise Agreements and managing industrial negotiations
- Strong advocacy experience before tribunals, commissions or decision-makers
- Excellent commercial judgement with the ability to balance legal risk and business outcomes
- Outstanding relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills
- A current practising certificate with at least seven years' post-qualification experience in employment law
