About the Role

Gallagher Bassett (GB) is seeking dedicated Claims professionals to join their team as Eligibility Specialists. These roles support Case Managers with technical advice on liability determinations, ensuring quality and ethical decisions within prescribed timeframes under NSW legislation. Dedicated positions will also manage liability determination for psychological injury claims, playing a vital role in designing and implementing new procedures. These opportunities offer specialist support and career growth within an expanding market.

Responsibilities

  • Support Case Managers with technical advice on initial and subsequent liability determinations.
  • Ensure quality and ethical liability decisions are made within prescribed timeframes under NSW legislation.
  • Contribute to the training and upskilling of Case Managers in relation to liability and relevant principles.
  • Manage the liability determination process for psychological injury claims under new legislation.
  • Design and implement new procedures for psychological injury claims.
  • Work with various stakeholders to interpret and apply new legislation and regulations to claim liability decisions.
  • Advise and provide technical support in the initial and full liability.
  • Support in the procurement of medical and factual investigations to determine liability.
  • Review and analyse case documentation, including medical and factual reports.
  • Assist in the identification of third-party recoveries.
  • Oversee and attend matters at the Personal Injury Commission.
  • Coach and mentor case management personnel.
  • Collaborate with additional specialist support hubs.
  • Participate in key business projects and initiatives, such as learning and development and legislation reform implementation.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in technical or case management roles within a workers compensation setting, with demonstrated experience in the determination or liability.
  • Exceptional time management and organisational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Highly developed communication skills, with the ability to engage and coach at all levels of organisation.
  • A strategic mindset and approach to work.
  • A strong sense of team and collaboration.
  • A resilient attitude.
  • Must have the right to live and work in Australia.
