About the Role

Manage social service programs including budgeting, planning, implementation, and monitoring across the portfolio, while liaising with nonprofit organizations and ensuring compliance with HUD regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises Social Services Coordinators.
  • Provides general case management and referral services.
  • Attends weekly and monthly case management meetings as assigned.
  • Serves as a liaison to community agencies, networks with community providers, and seeks out new services available to clients.
  • Maintains a Resource Directory of state and/or local service providers for resident assistance.
  • Maintains current and consistent service delivery notes.
  • Initiates and sets goals for programs according to strategic objectives.
  • Plans programs from start to completion, involving deadlines, milestones, and processes.
  • Devises evaluation strategies to monitor performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Enhances efficiency and productivity of procedures and people.
  • Ensures program operations and activities adhere to legal guidelines and internal policies.
  • Prepares detailed and accurate reports.
  • Assists Director of Social Services as needed.
  • Coordinates programs and their interdependencies between properties.
  • Manages program documentation, including initiation documentation.
  • Assists with various initiatives under the direction of senior management.
  • Builds and establishes strategic relationships with community groups.
  • Works closely with the property management team to enhance residents' lives through company investment.
  • Resolves tenant-related issues by working directly with residents and internal departments.
  • Manages the program staffing schedule.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in social work required.
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Social Work, or related field, preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in the social service field.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Proven management skills.
  • Understanding of project management.
  • Ability to effectively interact with a diverse tenant population and other stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Proven experience in program management within a residential tenant environment, preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to proactively anticipate and solve problems, preferred.
  • Position requires medium physical work, occasionally exerting up to 50 pounds of force and frequently/constantly up to 30 pounds.
  • Requires visual acuity for accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work, and for general observations of facilities.
  • Frequently requires reaching, repetitive movements with wrists, hands, and fingers (typing), and feeling/touching objects.
  • Requires talking and hearing for expressing ideas and receiving detailed information.
  • Occasionally requires standing for sustained periods, walking, moving between worksites, climbing, stooping, pushing, pulling, grasping, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
