About the Role
The Internal Corporate Affairs Specialist will drive internal communications and employee engagement, translating complex organizational priorities into clear, inclusive messages. Reporting to the Head of Corporate Affairs, this role supports executive leadership and collaborates across the organization to keep staff informed and connected to SSI’s purpose, strategy, and values.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver clear, inclusive, and engaging internal communications for business-as-usual and change initiatives.
- Manage internal communication channels including newsletters, intranet content, briefing materials, and FAQs.
- Partner with leaders to strengthen internal communication capability and promote best-practice channel usage.
- Lead online employee engagement forums and events to support culture and organizational listening.
- Monitor and report on communication effectiveness using surveys, feedback tools, and digital insights.
- Contribute to broader corporate affairs priorities such as advocacy campaigns, media activity, and events.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related discipline.
- Experience in internal or corporate communications, ideally within a complex, not-for-profit, or purpose-led organization.
- Proven experience designing, delivering, and evaluating internal communication and engagement campaigns.
- Understanding of change management principles and their application in communications planning.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Strong digital and data literacy with the ability to use analytics to improve outcomes.
- Flexibility to support external communications activities.
- Must undergo a National Police Clearance and a Working with Children Check.
- Must hold a Blue Card if working on or supporting Queensland child-related work.
