About the Role

SSI is seeking an Internal Corporate Affairs Specialist to strengthen how we listen, communicate, and connect with our people across a diverse, purpose-driven organization. This role will drive internal communications and employee engagement, ensuring staff are informed, supported, and connected to SSI’s purpose, strategy, culture, and values.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver clear, inclusive, and engaging internal communications for business-as-usual activities and change initiatives.
  • Manage internal communication channels, including newsletters, intranet content, briefing materials, and FAQs.
  • Partner with leaders and teams to enhance internal communication capabilities and promote best practices for channel usage.
  • Lead key online employee engagement forums and events that foster culture, connection, and organizational listening.
  • Monitor and report on communication effectiveness using surveys, feedback tools, and digital insights.
  • Contribute to broader corporate affairs priorities, such as advocacy campaigns, media activity, and events during high-volume periods.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or a similar role, preferably within a complex, not-for-profit, or purpose-led organization.
  • Strong experience in designing, delivering, and evaluating internal communication and engagement campaigns.
  • Understanding of change management principles and their application in communication planning.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build trusted relationships with executives, leaders, and staff at all levels.
  • Strong digital and data literacy, including the ability to use insights and analytics to improve communication outcomes.
  • Flexibility to support external communications activities for the Corporate Affairs team.
  • National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check are conditions of employment.
  • A Blue Card is required for staff working on, supporting, or managing Queensland child-related work.
