About the Role

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) engages in scientific dialogue with healthcare system leaders and top HCPs within a defined geography to translate science into patient care. The MSL captures medical insights, acts as a clinical & scientific advisor, and ensures interactions align with enterprise and medical strategies to facilitate patient access to BMS medicines. This role supports pre- and peri-launch activities and addresses scientific questions beyond approved assets and indications.

Responsibilities

Develops trusted relationships with academic and community Thought Leaders (TLs) in neurology through scientific dialogue.
Collaborates and engages in scientific dialogue with TLs to gain insights on the clinical landscape.
Proactively engages in scientific and clinical conversation to ensure the development of a medical plan.
Engages with medical societies, PAGs, and guideline committee members.
Provides training for external speakers.
Strategically engages payers in pre- and peri-launch phases.
Provides medical support to address unsolicited HCP questions in real-time.
Develops credible connections with key Thought Leaders (TLs) in neurology.
Appropriately documents and achieves annual goals.
Leverages digital capabilities to enhance medical engagement.
Provides recommendations and insights to clinical development teams on study feasibilities.
Liaises with key large accounts to understand clinical barriers to patient access.
Leads major evidence read-outs with clinical trial investigators.
Supports Interventional and Non-Interventional Research (NIR) studies.
Supports HCPs in the ISR submission and execution process and study follow-up.
Ensures BMS Pharmacovigilance procedural documents are understood and applied by investigators.
Supports CRO sponsored studies.
Acts as a representative of BMS in all interactions with external stakeholders.
Maintains a high level of integrity and good judgment.

Requirements

MD, PharmD, PhD, APP, PA, NP with experience in a specific Disease Area or with a broad medical background or relevant pharmaceutical experience.
Working in a scientific and/or clinical research environment.
Field medical expertise is preferred.
Deep understanding of TL environment and needs.
Strong neurology experience required.
Scientific or clinical disease area knowledge, patient treatment trends, clinical landscape.
Pharmaceutical industry including compliance and regulatory guidelines.
Understanding of scientific publications.
Clinical trial design and process.
Understanding of national and regional healthcare and access environment.
Scientific Agility.
Ability to engage in a dialogue about data in a compelling, fair and balanced way.
Expert knowledge of clinical practice and evolving healthcare delivery models.
Ability to understand and critically appraise scientific publications.
Knowledge of clinical trial design and methodology, including Good Clinical Practices and ethical, governmental, and regulatory requirements.
