Responsibilities
- Schedules PM’s, rebuilds, repairs and refits.
- Plans maintenance work by building a design, bill of materials, scope of work, special installation instructions, and time schedule with manpower requirements.
- Utilizes the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), Maximo, for allocation and requisitioning of parts, tools, materials and external labor.
- Queries work orders, reviews status, and changes status when appropriate.
- Assembles “job boxes” or “kits” for planned mechanical or electrical work orders.
- Acts as administrator for the Maximo Maintenance module and maintains and supports the Production and Facilities Maintenance Preventative Maintenance system.
- Ensures that all PMs are generated on a timely basis.
- Solicits information from vendors and contractors for parts, equipment and prefabrications.
- Allocates and requisitions parts, tools, materials, and equipment and verifies delivery relative to scheduled installation dates.
- Ensures that all completed PMs are closed out in the system and archived properly.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial or electrical engineering or 5 years of industrial plant maintenance experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
- Cross-disciplined craft in electrical and mechanical is preferred.
- Must have fundamental knowledge of industrial mechanical, process and electrical equipment including piping, materials selection, hydraulic/pneumatic systems and power distribution.
- Experienced multi-skilled mechanic/electrician.
- Must be able to read and comprehend electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics, including P&ID’s.
- Must be computer literate.
- Must be familiar with applicable codes including NFPA, NEC, and ISA.
- Must have a strong understanding regarding the operation/maintenance of processing equipment.
- Must be able to plan, schedule, and determine the proper direction from multiple priorities.
- Can effectively cope with change, shift gears comfortably, and decide and act without having the total picture.
- Can solve complex problems, glean meaning from data, and use multiple problem-solving tools and techniques.
- Sets and maintains high performance standards and holds self and others accountable for achieving results.
- Ensures organizational systems, processes, and people are aligned to support strategic objectives.
- Regularly evaluates self and team on goal attainment, processes used, and competitive benchmarks.
Skills
- Computer literacy with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) preferred.
- Fundamental knowledge of industrial mechanical, process and electrical equipment.
- Knowledge of piping, materials selection, hydraulic/pneumatic systems and power distribution.
- Ability to read and comprehend electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics, including P&ID’s.
