About the Role
As an Education Intern, you will support the Austin PBS Education team in building awareness and engagement with PBS educational resources for youth aged 2-18. You will target educators, parents/caregivers, and children, promoting the value of digital educational media for learning. This role requires comfort with technology, public engagement, and travel to various work sites.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain electronic devices (primarily tablets) for educational use.
- Maintain working links on Austin PBS Preschool Resource Guides and other curriculum documents.
- Analyze pre/post assessment data from Austin PBS workshops.
- Prepare metadata for ACC/Austin PBS education videos.
- Assist Austin PBS Education team at internal and external events (may include evenings & weekends).
- Maintain inventory of Austin PBS Education supplies.
- Promote educational resources and our weekly Educator Newsletter to current and prospective teachers.
- Reach out to community agencies and pediatric medical facilities to build awareness of PBS KIDS media.
Requirements
- Current undergraduate student, actively enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program for the full internship duration.
- Available for a minimum of 13 weeks.
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
- Comfort with current technologies.
- Comfort with public engagement, including instruction for children and adults.
- Ability to travel to different sites where Austin PBS Education works with partners.
Skills

- Interest in supporting educational programs and outreach.
- Appreciation for the power of PBS digital educational media.
- Ability to communicate appreciation for digital media to the public.
- Adept at social media.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
