About the Role
Austin PBS is seeking a Production Intern to support behind-the-scenes production in a dynamic environment. Interns will assist staff with productions, gaining a comprehensive understanding of television production under the guidance of experienced professionals.
Responsibilities
- Assist production staff with field production tasks, including shoots, video logging, and internet research.
- Attend assigned studio and field productions.
- Develop skills to assist in segment production, including field producing, logging, and editing.
- Provide support for in-studio productions and onsite events.
- Coordinate pre- and post-production activities.
- Engage in research and story development.
- Participate in studio production.
- Participate in field production.
- Perform video logging and editing.
Requirements
- Must be a current undergraduate student actively enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program for the entire internship duration.
- Must be available for a minimum of 13 weeks.
- Internship will be in-person.
- Requires a 15-20 hour weekly commitment, preferably daily.
- Strong interest in broadcast and digital media is preferred.
- Familiarity with Austin PBS shows is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Comfortable working individually and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Google Sheets or Excel is required (familiarity with Microsoft Office).
- Familiarity with Google Workspace (G Suite) is required.
- Excellent research skills.
- Experience handling and organizing production gear is preferred but not required.
- Working conditions are primarily a general office setting.
- Requires some self-provided travel to off-site events and engagements.
