About the Role

Provide support for supported employees attending employment services in Thornleigh, assisting them with grounds and landscaping works, complex behaviors, and engaging in meaningful work.

Responsibilities

  • Support and encourage supported employees to participate in work.
  • Support clients with their personal care as per their person-centred plan.
  • Utilize specified manual handling techniques from a client's person-centred plan.
  • Interact with family members and stakeholders while respecting dignity, cultural background, and religious beliefs.
  • Participate in developing, implementing, record-keeping, and reviewing person-centred plans and behaviour support plans.
  • Work cooperatively as part of a team and treat colleagues with respect.
  • Respond to incidents and injuries in accordance with Unisson's policies, procedures, and NDIS Quality Safeguards Standards.

Requirements

  • Available to work weekdays from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.
  • Hold a valid NSW Driver’s License (P2/Full).
  • Willingness to drive a Unisson vehicle.
  • High levels of enthusiasm, initiative, and a positive attitude.
  • Emotional intelligence, resilience, and capacity to perform the work.
  • Prior experience working with people with disabilities or in a similar role is desirable.
  • Certificate III and/or IV in Disability and prior experience is desirable.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain a NSW Driver’s Licence (P2/Full).
  • Must have or be willing to obtain a First Aid Certificate.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Check.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain a Working With Children Check (if required).
