About the Role

Ericsson Antenna System is seeking a Line Manager to lead product design activities, defining next-generation antenna solutions and translating technology into market-leading, cost-optimized products. This leadership role is part of the EAS Product Design Leadership Team, reporting to the Head of Product Design, and offers the opportunity to influence technology direction, drive system performance, and enhance business competitiveness. The role involves leading a team of over 25 people.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary unit in Product Design, comprising engineers across RF, electronics, and mechanical disciplines, responsible for antenna design.
  • Own and manage antenna design releases for assigned products, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with Quality/Performance, Time, and Cost (QTC) objectives.
  • Manage allocation of work and resources to meet program milestones, quality targets, and delivery schedules.
  • Lead by example as a visible role model, providing regular coaching and structured mentoring to develop team members, elevate team performance, and ensure succession readiness.
  • Coordinate with appointed technical leaders to align technical priorities, remove impediments, and ensure consistent engineering practices.
  • Own hiring, onboarding, and retention activities for the team, including workforce planning and building bench strength.
  • Ensure clear communication with stakeholders in Product Design, Project and Program Management, Systems and Operations; escalate risks and drive mitigation actions.
  • Promote and enforce safety, quality, compliance, and documentation standards in labs and offices.
  • Drive continuous improvement in team processes (development workflows, design reviews, verification, cross-functional handovers).

Requirements

  • Proven experience in people management (first-line manager) of engineering teams; ability to lead multidisciplinary groups.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable presenting to stakeholders and negotiating priorities with cross-functional partners.
  • Background or experience specifically with antenna systems preferably in base station antenna business, RF front-end components or related products.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan work, manage resources, and deliver complex technical projects on time and to specification.
  • Experience working with technical leads; able to balance people management with supporting technical decision-making without duplicating technical leadership.
  • Problem-solving mindset, ability to identify risks early and implement pragmatic mitigation measures.
