About the Role
The Disability Support Worker role at CPA provides high-quality, person-centered support to people with disabilities, empowering clients to live independently by helping them achieve goals and supporting their wellbeing, dignity, and quality of life. This role is based at the St Ives Day Centre, supporting clients with various disabilities through transportation to day programs or direct support at the centre.
Responsibilities
- Transporting clients from their homes to attend day programs
- Providing support directly at the centre
- Assisting with daily living skills
- Assisting with social engagement
- Assisting with community participation
- Providing personal care (where required)
- Providing manual handling
- Providing medication support (if trained)
- Implementing behaviour support strategies
- Providing 1:1 or small group support
- Encouraging independence
- Building skills and confidence
- Promoting inclusion
- Supporting participant choice
- Facilitating activities and outings
- Following individual support plans
- Documenting progress
- Working collaboratively with families and allied health professionals
Requirements
- Commitment to person-centred care
- Current NSW Driver's Licence (minimum P2)
- Ability to meet the inherent physical requirements of the role
- Willingness to work a rotating roster
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working With Children Check
- First Aid & CPR certification
