About the Role
Red Hat Consulting is seeking a Project Manager in Tokyo to manage complex projects from initiation to closure. This role involves coordinating cross-functional teams, defining and managing project economics, and establishing project management discipline within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Manage projects using PMI, Red Hat Services project management methodologies, and technical delivery methods like Agile and Scrum.
- Plan, schedule, track project progress, and report to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Participate in pre-sales activities as a PM, reviewing proposals, estimates, and contracts to ensure successful project delivery.
- Understand client needs and goals, and assign appropriate consultants and architects based on required skills and experience.
- Foster team collaboration to resolve project and team challenges.
- Manage project issues and lead resolution efforts in coordination with client management and consulting managers.
- Conduct project reviews with client management to demonstrate Red Hat's value and contribute to project expansion and continuation.
- Continuously identify and bridge expectation gaps with clients to maximize satisfaction.
- Manage project member utilization and costs to achieve revenue targets.
Requirements
- Over 7 years of experience in project management for IT-based projects.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Knowledge of specific project management and technical delivery methodologies used in the IT industry.
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, analytical, and business insight skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both individually and as part of a team, motivate project teams and contributors, and mediate conflicts.
- Native level Japanese and business level English proficiency.
