About the Role

Unique AI builds a generative AI platform that financial institutions trust with high-stakes work, focusing on reliability, auditability, and security. We aim to augment financial professionals by automating repetitive tasks, allowing them to focus on judgment, clients, and performance.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, deploy, and evaluate production AI agents for hedge fund workflows on top of Unique’s platform.
• Act as the senior technical counterpart to our Hedge Fund Product Expert, translating front-office workflows into reliable agent products.
• Represent Unique as the technical authority in client engagements with hedge funds, supporting the full lifecycle from design partner to production deployment.
• Collaborate closely with our product and engineering teams to feed deployment patterns and client insights back into the core platform.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building software or ML/AI products, including 2+ years developing LLM-based systems.
• Demonstrated experience designing, deploying, operating, and evaluating LLM-based applications in production environments, including agentic systems with tool calling and orchestration.
• Strong proficiency in Python and modern software engineering practices.
• Experience with low-level LLM experimentation beyond frameworks.
• Exceptional communication and documentation skills.
• Comfortable working with technical and business stakeholders, including senior client representatives.
• Ability to communicate clearly when navigating ambiguity.
• Must live in or around New York.
• Must have a valid work permit.
• Willingness to visit clients on-site within the USA.
