About the Role
The Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) Program in the School of Education at the University of San Francisco is seeking adjunct instructors to teach courses for the Spring Semester. The MFT Program prepares students for licensure as Marriage and Family Therapists and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors, emphasizing social and cultural responsiveness, equity, social justice, and community.
Responsibilities
- Teach assigned Marriage and Family Therapy courses for the Spring Semester.
- Integrate issues of diversity, equity, and advocacy into teaching.
- Assess student behavior and incorporate developmentally, ethnically, legally, and gender-appropriate strategies.
- Apply counseling theories to the practice of counseling children, adolescents, adults, and families.
- Provide supervised experience in marriage and family therapy.
- Understand and apply models of community mental health recovery and skills for mental health practice.
- Develop knowledge and skills related to human sexuality and gender experiences in therapy.
- Study the etiology, assessment, treatment, and dynamics of various types of addiction.
- Develop conceptual knowledge, practical skills, and self-awareness concerning addiction, assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and intervention.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in MFT, Ph.D./Psy.D, in Clinical or Counseling Psychology required.
- Demonstrate expertise and knowledge in the specific content area of the course.
