About the Role

The Settlement Home for Children is seeking a Youth Care Counselor to provide guidance and supervision to residents, implement treatment goals, and plan/teach enrichment activities. This role is crucial in ensuring the well-being and development of the children in our care.

Responsibilities

• Give guidance and supervision to implement treatment goals.
• Plan, implement, supervise, and teach leisure, recreational, and enrichment activities.
• Ensure documentation of cottage life, incidents, daily behavior, medical needs, and treatment observations.
• Ensure residents attend scheduled school, work-training, and jobs.
• Plan and carry out activities for residents during out-of-school times.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Willing and able to perform restraints of residents in accordance with training and safety protocols.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and TB test.
• Must have a criminal background clear of any offenses that would preclude employment in a licensed child care operation.
• Must have a valid Driver License and auto liability insurance.
