About the Role

Responsibilities

  • Independently mine MediaAlpha Exchange data to identify quantified revenue or margin growth opportunities, documenting findings with estimated financial upside.
  • Prioritize opportunities using ROI calculations and present ranked backlogs to business and analytics stakeholders.
  • Provide weekly written status updates on progress, blockers, and next steps, proactively requesting resources or escalating risks.
  • Maintain expert-level knowledge of MediaAlpha Exchange functionality, database schema, bidding logic, and platform APIs.
  • Act as a frontline resource for business teams to scope client solutions.
  • Scope, design, build, validate, deploy, and maintain data-science solutions (models, decision systems, dashboards, ETL pipelines) without supervisory direction.
  • Deliver all milestones on the committed timeline in Jira, accounting for deadlines at risk of being missed with advance notice and justifiable tradeoffs.
  • Write production-grade Python and SQL that passes peer-review approval on the first review at least 80% of the time, with infrequent redesigns.
  • Own Airflow DAGs and data-pipeline SLAs, resolving issues within four business hours of alert during core hours or within the same calendar day during on-call rotations.
  • Maintain professionalism and punctuality.
  • Act as the primary analytics liaison for assigned business units, attending and driving KPI/metrics reviews.
  • Translate technical findings into concise business recommendations (deck, memo, or live walkthrough).

Requirements

  • Three (3) years of experience in building and deploying AI models and AI tools in digital media.
  • Seven (7) years of hands-on experience developing and deploying machine learning models.
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects and collaborating with tech, engineering, data scientists, and product teams.
  • Experience deploying impactful code in predictive models, data pipelines, algorithms to production environments with quantifiable business impact.
  • Knowledge in applying statistical techniques, specifically designing tests/experiments and evaluating results to real-world business problems.
  • Proficient in Python and SQL.
  • Proficient in analytical skills and ability to synthesize large and disparate data sets.
  • Experience in search, display, performance, and digital marketing or closely related.
  • Proficient in R Shiny, Shiny Server, and Airflow.
  • Experience in real-time bidding in digital media.

Salary/Compensations

  • $168,000 - $222,000 per year
