About the Role

Join a team dedicated to designing the grid of the future by conducting computer modeling and analysis for transmission planning studies, including steady state, short circuit, and dynamic stability analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Perform power system impact studies including Steady State, Short Circuit, and Dynamic Stability.
  • Conduct NERC-compliance-related technical analyses such as TPL Annual Planning Assessments.
  • Execute full generator interconnection studies including Sub-Synchronous Resonance (SSR) studies.
  • Ensure renewable and storage resource projects meet Voltage Ride-Through (VRT) requirements.
  • Prepare technical study reports and maintain necessary data.
  • Manage assigned projects to ensure timely completion within quality and budget objectives.
  • Identify and communicate training needs to the Engineering Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, with an emphasis in Power Systems preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience as a power systems engineer performing impact studies.
  • Proven team player with ability to build internal and external relationships.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks.
  • Flexible with the ability to manage change.
  • High standards for producing quality reports.
  • Strong technical report writing skills.

  • Power systems software proficiency (PSS/E, PSLF, PSCAD, Aspen, TARA)
