About the Role
This leadership role will be responsible for building and leading Zurich Canada’s Claims Analytics function, transforming claims data into actionable insights to improve operational performance, customer experience, fraud detection, claims outcomes, and business decision-making. The successful candidate will partner closely with Claims, Technology, Finance, Customer Office, and business leaders to establish a modern analytics capability combining reporting, business intelligence, advanced analytics, and data-driven decision support. Responsibilities
- Lead and evolve Zurich Canada’s Claims Analytics strategy, roadmap, and operating model.
- Build and lead a high-performing team focused on claims insights, reporting, fraud analytics, customer experience analytics, and advanced analytics.
- Partner with Claims leadership to identify opportunities to improve claims outcomes, operational efficiency, expense performance, and customer experience.
- Develop executive dashboards, KPIs, and reporting that provide actionable insights into claims performance, leakage, expenses, fraud, and customer outcomes.
- Drive claims leakage detection and reduction by identifying trends, anomalies, overpayments, and recovery opportunities.
- Lead fraud analytics initiatives, including emerging fraud pattern identification, indicator optimization, and collaboration with claims and fraud teams.
- Advance predictive analytics capabilities, including forecasting, workload planning, severity analysis, and other high-value claims use cases.
- Champion a single source of truth for claims data, metrics, and reporting through strong data governance and stewardship practices.
- Partner with data, technology, and business teams to improve access to trusted claims data and modern analytics platforms.
- Translate complex analytical findings into clear business stories, recommendations, and executive presentations.
- Drive adoption of analytics and AI-enabled capabilities while ensuring appropriate governance, controls, and responsible use practices.
- Develop strong relationships across the organization and serve as a trusted advisor to Claims and senior leadership teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and 8+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, data science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing analytics, reporting, or data teams.
- Experience partnering with senior business leaders to influence strategy and business decisions.
- Strong experience delivering analytics solutions, dashboards, reporting frameworks, and performance measurement programs.
Skills
- Insurance or claims analytics experience.
- Experience with Power BI, SQL, Python, Databricks, or similar analytics platforms.
- Experience in claims operations, fraud analytics, customer experience analytics, or predictive modeling is an asset.
- Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
- Experience building and scaling analytics teams and operating models.
- Knowledge of AI, machine learning, and modern data-driven decision support capabilities.
- Ability to translate complex analytics into simple, actionable business insights.

- $140,000 - $170,000
