About the Role
The Sr. HSE Manager provides leadership and guidance to assigned projects in the development and implementation of health, safety and environmental (EHS) processes.
Responsibilities
- Implements comprehensive EHS processes for all assigned projects, adhering to corporate, divisional, and regional EHS programs.
- Assists Project Manager and EHS personnel in evaluating project site, equipment, and processes.
- Oversees one or more HSE Managers and works with the Project Manager and management team to develop and implement site-specific HSE plans.
- Coordinates subcontractor EHS protocols, including vendors and owner personnel.
- Plans and coordinates work to eliminate hazards, minimize risks, and manage losses involving injuries or property damages.
- Leads investigation and analysis, ensuring proper documentation and initiating corrective measures.
- Assists project teams in completing and submitting required reports accurately and on time.
- Ensures Industrial Hygiene protocols are implemented.
- Manages Company’s Drug-Free Workplace Policy, including various testing protocols.
- Provides training and education on safety requirements, including new hire EHS orientation.
- Completes and provides weekly EHS updates to EHS leadership.
- Administers the corporate SPAT process on assigned projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Civil Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent.
- CHST (Construction Health & Safety Technician) Certification.
- Minimum 7 years of experience, with the majority on major construction projects.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and manage time.
- Knowledge of regulations and standards.
- Hazard recognition and injury management skills.
- Some travel required.
- Required to stand, walk, sit and/or climb stairs or ladders.
