About the Role
The Senior Claims Advocacy Specialist develops and implements claim analysis and advocacy strategies, serving as a subject matter expert on complex issues. This role collaborates with internal stakeholders to innovate claims management solutions, represents the company in high-level negotiations, monitors industry trends, and drives initiatives for operational efficiency and strategic development within the specialty insurance market.
Responsibilities
- Develops and implements advanced strategies for generating claims insights and advocacy, leveraging industry expertise and insights to optimize claim resolution outcomes.
- Serves as a subject matter expert on complex claims issues, providing guidance and support to the team and assisting with the resolution of challenging cases.
- Represents the company in negotiations with insurance carriers, clients, and other stakeholders, ensuring the protection of the organization’s interests and achievement of favorable outcomes.
- Monitors industry trends, regulatory developments, and emerging risks to proactively identify opportunities for improvement and adapt claims advocacy strategies accordingly.
- Conducts regular reviews, audits, and performance evaluations to assess the effectiveness of claims advocacy processes and identify areas for enhancement.
- Drives initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, streamlines claims handling processes, and optimizes resource allocation within the claim’s advocacy team.
- Collaborates with underwriters, legal counsel, and senior management, to develop innovative solutions for claims management and risk mitigation.
- Supports the team of Claims Advocacy Specialists, providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship to enhance their performance and professional development.
- Fosters strong relationships with key clients, insurance carriers, and industry stakeholders, serving as a trusted advisor and advocate for the company's interests.
- Collaborates with management to develop and implement strategic initiatives aimed at achieving organizational goals and maintaining a competitive edge in the specialty insurance market.
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in Insurance Claims processing or claims management with a Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Insurance Claims processing or claims management with a Master's degree.
- State specific Adjusting/Appraising/Examining/ Investigating Licenses is preferred.
- Associate in Claims (AIC), or Certified Claims Professional (CCP) is a plus.
