About the Role

Project Managers are responsible for all matters pertaining to the execution of projects assigned to them in accordance with contract terms and Company goals. This role typically reports to the Director of Operations and collaborates with various management and staff across departments.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all phases of large projects (>US$100MM) or multiple projects of significant scope, complexity, and commercial terms.
  • Manage project budgeting, scheduling, and P&L accountability.
  • Accountable for vendor and contractor selection, delivery, and execution.
  • Manage all client communications and interactions with company support functions.
  • Responsible for all site personnel for site-based Project Managers.
  • Ensure compliance with Company business & legal policies.
  • Maintain client relationships and protect the Company from unnecessary risks.
  • Manage project resources and provide overall leadership.
  • Serve as a focal point for client communication.
  • Maintain formal and accurate project forecasting.
  • Direct continuous improvements through a formal Lessons Learned program.
  • Assure completion of internal and external project reports.
  • Ensure a complete understanding of the Contract agreement, project specifications, 'as-sold' scope of work, and contract commercial terms.
  • Establish and communicate project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards.
  • Travel to project locations for client/customer meetings and site assessments.
  • Manage change to mitigate risk and leverage commercial advantage.
  • Maintain positive project cash flow.
  • Represent the Company and the project at all meetings.
  • Provide operational input and support during the Commercial and Business Development process.
  • Develop direct reports and maintain a succession plan.
  • Meet all established Company HSE and Quality goals and targets.
  • Ensure accurate project forecasting.
  • Manage contract commercial aspects, including financial and operational control of scope and schedule changes.

Requirements

  • Typically 20+ years since first degree and 15+ years of relevant experience in Project Engineering, Construction Management or Project Controls.
  • 3+ years Project Site Engineering or Construction Management role.
  • Broad technical knowledge of construction methods and equipment, engineering processes, and fabrication capabilities.
  • Familiarity with estimating, supply chain, project controls, and contract commercial management.
  • Knowledge of Commercial Contracting and Negotiation strategies.
  • Familiarity with the Energy & Construction Industry preferred.
