About the Role
Powerback is seeking a Physical Therapist to provide outpatient rehabilitation services in an in-home setting for the older adult population. Responsibilities
- Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants, temporary licensees, students, and support personnel.
- Adhere to department and patient treatment schedules, documentation, and meeting requirements.
- Attend and contribute to patient care conferences and other related meetings.
- Make referrals to other disciplines and agencies to address comprehensive patient needs.
- Consult with the rehabilitation team to select appropriate therapeutic regimens.
- Adapt programs and/or plans of care based on individual patient needs.
- Promote a safe environment and eliminate fire and safety hazards.
- Order necessary supplies and equipment.
- Clean, maintain, and report the need for repair of equipment.
- Prioritize patient service, ensuring high-quality care in a compassionate atmosphere.
- Screen, examine, and evaluate patients, including history, systems review, and application of tests.
- Synthesize information and interpret examination findings to establish a diagnosis and plan of care.
- Develop treatment goals and methods in collaboration with patients and caregivers.
- Implement physical therapy treatment plans and complete all related documentation.
- Apply therapeutic techniques including therapeutic exercise, functional training, manual therapy, airway clearance, integumentary repair, modalities, health and wellness education, chronic disease management, falls assessment, and case management.
- Design, fabricate, fit, and/or apply adaptive devices and train patients in their use.
- Select appropriate activities suited to the individual's capacity, intelligence, and interest.
- Instruct patients in skills and techniques for mobility activities.
- Evaluate patient progress, attitudes, and behavior related to rehabilitative potential.
- Perform routine reexaminations as needed to modify/progress the plan of treatment.
- Incorporate health and wellness programming into treatment plans.
- Perform home and community mobility assessments and provide recommendations.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
- Must have a valid Physical Therapy license in the state(s) of practice, or proof of license eligibility.
- Must have a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy; or
- Must have a Master’s degree in a Physical Therapy related field in addition to a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy; or
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy plus 5 years of progressively responsible PT experience.
- Qualifying Physical Therapy degrees earned outside of the U.S. must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency.
- Must have a valid driver’s license or reliable, independent transportation to and from patients’ residences.
