About the Role

UHE UK offers undergraduate programmes in collaboration with the University of Roehampton, including modules that develop students' academic skills, communications, and subject knowledge. Courses are delivered using a blended approach to accommodate non-traditional students needing flexible study options. Lecturers teach modules from foundation year to Level 6, helping students build academic and employability skills, advance careers, and prepare for postgraduate study. The teaching approach is interactive and student-centred, utilizing a combination of face-to-face and online delivery with both asynchronous and synchronous learning elements, leveraging technology for a varied and engaging student experience.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate module delivery across multiple classes and tutors to ensure consistency of teaching and assessment.
  • Develop, review, and update teaching materials and learning resources.
  • Design and implement blended learning and digital learning strategies.
  • Provide academic guidance and support to tutors delivering the module.
  • Ensure alignment between teaching, learning outcomes, and assessment requirements.
  • Organize and lead internal moderation and standardization meetings.
  • Oversee module evaluation and contribute to curriculum development and enhancement.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional policies and awarding body requirements.
  • Facilitate the delivery and assessment of a credit-bearing Business related module.
  • Teach seminars and workshops (some online) focused on developing critical thinking and reflection on module topics.
  • Deliver one-to-one and small-group tutorials to support students’ academic and language development.
  • Monitor and report on student progress and contribute to moderation and quality assurance processes.
  • Support the development and use of digital learning resources and technologies to enhance academic literacies.
  • Participate in module review and enhancement and contribute to the evaluation of academic support provision.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure all support is compliant with institutional policies and GDPR.
  • Engage in continuing professional development relevant to the programme and inclusive teaching.
  • Remain sensitive to the expectations of different nationalities whilst encouraging an open and questioning approach to learning that leads students to become independent learners.
  • Develop and maintain an encouraging classroom environment where accepted rules of behaviour are consistently applied.
  • Assess students throughout their modules, regularly creating, providing, and marking both formative and summative assessments.
  • Attend and contribute to college meetings and training sessions as required.

Requirements

  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK.
  • Willingness to undergo a DBS check or overseas equivalent.
  • Good Honours and Masters’ degrees in Business, Economics or a cognate subject.
  • For Level 6, a relevant Master’s degree and PhD or substantial teaching and research or industry experience at that level.
  • Experience in teaching Business / Economics / Finance at Levels 3 to 6 in a higher education environment.
  • Experience of a variety of teaching approaches.
  • Experience of module design, leadership, curriculum development and quality assurance process and procedures.

Skills

  • Ability to teach and supervise students’ projects, labs and coursework up to Master’s level.

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead, work as part of a team and take on and accept responsibility.

Experience Level

  • Experience in teaching Business / Economics / Finance at Levels 3 to 6 in a higher education environment.
  • Experience of module design, leadership, curriculum development and quality assurance process and procedures.

Education Level

  • Good Honours and Masters’ degrees in Business, Economics or a cognate subject.
  • For Level 6, a relevant Master’s degree and PhD or substantial teaching and research or industry experience at that level.
  • Formal teaching qualification PGCHE or Registered Practitioner of Advance HE. (Desirable)
