About the Role

We are hiring a system engineer to support the projects, operations, and maintenance of our Azure Cloud Infrastructure, providing reliable services to people across the expanding LCRA region. Our ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in Azure Cloud Services systems and a solid background in VNETs, App Services, Storage, DDoS, WAF, and PaaS. This is a great opportunity to join our diverse team of engineers providing crucial services to Texans.

Responsibilities

Build, configure, and optimize Azure Virtual Machines and supporting computer infrastructure, including Azure PaaS services for hosting and managing modern web applications.
Design, implement, and maintain Azure Virtual Networks, including routing, segmentation, and network security controls.
Apply strong security and identity management practices across Azure resources, including RBAC, managed identities, and conditional access.
Manage Azure Storage solutions and backup strategies to ensure resilience, data protection, and efficient lifecycle management.
Implement, tune, and maintain firewall policies, DDoS Protection, and Web Application Firewall configurations for secure cloud operations.
Lead and support cloud migration efforts, ensuring smooth transitions of workloads, systems, and services into Azure with minimal downtime.

Requirements

Nine or more years of experience in designing and/or operating networks or relevant experience.
A degree(s) in information technology, computer science or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
