About the Role

The Energy Compliance Analyst supports the Energy division at U.S. Venture by ensuring business continuity and facilitating new commercial activity through a regulatory lens, with a specific focus on the renewable energy business.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement compliance programs for energy commodities production, generation, blending, and import/export activities
  • Compile registration, reporting, and audit obligations for state and federal agencies including EPA, EIA, CARB, ODEQ, WFRS, and CFR
  • Manage renewable instrument transaction processes including registration, generation, separation, transfers, and retirement of RINs, LCFS/CFP credits, allowances, offsets, VCUs, and RECs
  • Maintain written policies and procedures related to regulatory requirements
  • Build industry relationships to stay informed on regulatory and compliance landscape changes
  • Evaluate regulatory frameworks and identify areas of significant risk
  • Align process implementation with strategic business planning
  • Coordinate with Operations, Trading, Scheduling, and Business Development teams to ensure regulatory adherence
  • Identify and resolve potential compliance pitfalls
  • Automate processes to remove redundancies and manual practices
  • Champion continuous improvement and quality control efforts
  • Support corporate safety and government compliance initiatives

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in Accounting, Finance, Audit, or a related field in a deadline-oriented environment
  • Experience working with external parties or clients
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work with large amounts of data with high attention to detail
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without sponsorship
