About the Role
Booz Allen Hamilton Ventures, a $300M corporate venture capital fund, is seeking an Associate to manage investment opportunities, inform investment theses in key categories, and support fund leadership with due diligence and fund operations. The Associate will project manage active deals, conduct due diligence, and meet with founders and investors.
Responsibilities
- Support all aspects of the deal review process, including quantitative analysis, financial modeling, sensitivity analysis, competitor and market scans, customer and investor interviews, and technology reviews.
- Support negotiations with investment targets.
- Identify and source strong investment opportunities in key focus sectors.
- Review a high-volume of inbound pipeline to triage relevant opportunities.
- Perform in-depth research to support new and existing investment thesis development.
- Produce written research/analysis, sector presentations, white papers, and investment memos.
- Manage internal pipeline and portfolio management tools.
- Contribute to internal-facing reporting on portfolio health and investment theses.
- Coordinate with relevant internal teams, such as legal and accounting, through deal processes.
- Support commercial engagements, such as pilots, between portfolio companies and Booz Allen Hamilton.
- Utilize Booz Allen Hamilton Ventures’ collective networks to drive value for the portfolio.
- Develop relationships with relevant founders, VCs, and corporate executives, along with key internal stakeholders.
- Help extend Booz Allen Hamilton Ventures’ reach in key communities by hosting and attending industry events.
- Produce written or audio/video content, such as podcasts.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, or with a technology company.
- Experience conducting financial analysis, financial modeling, valuation assessments, and investment diligence activities.
- Experience evaluating technology companies, startup business models, market opportunities, and competitive landscapes.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and coordinating stakeholders across cross-functional teams.
- Experience developing written analyses, investment memoranda, presentations, or executive-level briefings.
- Knowledge of venture capital investing, startup ecosystems, and emerging technology markets.
- Ability to communicate effectively with founders, investors, executives, and technical stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative information to support business and investment decisions.
