About the Role
Develops and implements software solutions of diverse scope and complexity, leveraging extensive technical expertise and business acumen to address system needs, resolve issues, and contribute to strategic objectives. Manages software development projects or assignments of increasing complexity, scope, and impact, applying professional judgment and expertise. Engages in proactive troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving to identify root causes of system issues, optimize performance, and ensure seamless functionality, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust and scalable solutions.
Responsibilities
- Develop and test Java-based software solutions, including microservices, APIs, and frameworks, ensuring alignment with business requirements and technical standards.
- Design and implement scalable microservices using Spring Boot, deploying them on OpenShift to ensure cloud-native resilience and efficiency.
- Engineer real-time transaction processing systems leveraging event-driven architecture and Kafka streaming to handle high-throughput, low-latency workflows.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement solutions to resolve moderately complex issues and improve processes.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members, fostering skill development and ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Analyze system requirements and contribute to the creation of technical strategies, offering recommendations to enhance functionality and operational efficiency.
- Lead software development tasks or projects requiring advanced problem-solving and decision-making, navigating ambiguity.
- Drive decisions on issues requiring innovative thinking and technical expertise and providing recommendations that influence own team and across other work areas.
- Resolve software development related problems independently by identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions that enhance efficiency within scope of responsibility.
- Maintain and enhance relationships with internal teams and external contacts to deliver measurable business outcomes.
Requirements
- Strong Java Proficiency – Expertise in Java development, including Spring Boot and microservices architecture, with hands-on experience in designing scalable, cloud-native solutions.
- Cloud & Containerization Skills – Proven ability to deploy and manage applications on platforms like OpenShift, leveraging Docker and Kubernetes for orchestration.
- API & Event-Driven Expertise – Experience building RESTful APIs and implementing real-time systems using Kafka or similar streaming technologies.
- Problem-Solving & Collaboration – Ability to troubleshoot complex technical challenges, mentor junior developers, and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Strategic & Adaptive Mindset – Capacity to analyze system requirements, drive technical decisions, and navigate ambiguity while aligning solutions with business goals.
- Familiarity with DevOps Practices – Experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform), and monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) to enhance deployment efficiency.
- Knowledge of Financial Services – Prior exposure to banking, payments, or regulatory compliance (e.g., PCI DSS, GDPR) to better align solutions with industry-specific needs.
- Advanced OpenShift & AWS Skills – Hands-on experience managing containerized workloads on OpenShift and leveraging AWS services for hybrid/multi-cloud deployments.
- SQL Server & Jira Proficiency – Strong database management skills with SQL Server and experience using Jira for agile project tracking and collaboration.
