About the Role

CBC Music is looking for an Associate Producer to join the Digital Content Team. This role involves creating shareable music content for multiple social platforms, with an emphasis on vertical video.

Responsibilities

  • Writes, edits, packages, and publishes creative social content tailored for YouTube, TikTok, and Meta platforms.
  • Clips and edits short-form video content optimized for YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and Facebook.
  • Monitors and leverages platform metrics to continuously optimize content performance.
  • Proactively manages community engagement, responding to audience inquiries and navigating challenging conversations or complaints.
  • Monitors social spaces to flag emerging stories, topics, and viral trends for the editorial team.

Requirements

  • A university degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Three years of digital media experience, with a proven track record of managing major social platforms.
  • A deep passion for music, arts, and culture.
  • Demonstrated expertise in creative ideation, scriptwriting, and on-camera hosting for short-form video.
  • Advanced digital video editing and graphic design skills (proficiency in Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, or similar tools).
  • Strong editorial judgment, vetting skills, and a data-driven approach to social strategy.
  • The ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently.
  • Familiarity with CBC’s Journalistic Standards and Practices (JSP) is a strong asset.
  • Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.
  • A mandatory Criminal record check.
  • Other background checks may be conducted based on the operational requirements of the position.
