About the Role

The Senior Business Analyst serves as the critical bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams, focusing on analyzing legacy systems, identifying operational inefficiencies, and translating business needs into actionable technical solutions. This role involves documenting requirements to guide future vendor selection and solution implementation, mapping current and future states, and ensuring deliverables meet programmatic goals.

Responsibilities

Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, and surveys to discover and define business needs.
Translate abstract ideas and operational needs into structured Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) and Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs).
Document comprehensive system specifications to be shared with vendors for future implementations.
Analyze legacy systems to identify current inefficiencies and areas for process improvement.
Create use cases and process maps to visually illustrate current vs. future state environments.
Prepare solution options, risk assessments, and financial analyses (e.g., cost/benefit, ROI, build vs. buy).
Act as the central point of contact between business users, technical delivery teams, and project stakeholders.
Negotiate requirement trade-offs and manage stakeholder expectations regarding project scope, timelines, and costs.
Work independently, relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish project goals.
Participate in the testing phase by developing comprehensive test cases.
Facilitate and document User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure the final product meets original business requirements.

Requirements

8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or similar role.
8+ years of experience analyzing legacy systems, identifying inefficiencies, and proposing actionable technical solutions.
8+ years of experience serving as a liaison between the business community and IT/Technology teams (e.g., Architecture, Project Delivery).
Demonstrated experience capturing, translating, and documenting complex business requirements and guiding UAT.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Strong background in data analysis, including the ability to analyze and interpret raw data.
Experience with business process reengineering and industry-standard process mapping methodologies.
