About the Role
As a Sector Director on the Transit Team, you will be the driving force behind identifying emerging market trends, shaping sector growth strategies, and accelerating business performance. This role combines sector leadership with project leadership, leveraging market opportunities, leading strategic pursuits, growing key client relationships, and ensuring the successful delivery of complex programs and projects.
Responsibilities
- Act as an account manager on key strategic transit accounts, owning and achieving sector sales targets and account growth objectives.
- Provide sector intelligence, market insights, and competitive analysis to support business planning.
- Identify emerging market trends, client challenges, and opportunities to expand market share.
- Lead the technical, financial, and commercial input for strategic pursuits.
- Grow existing strategic client accounts through consultative relationship management.
- Lead service line integration strategies that enhance value to clients.
- Develop new market opportunities for Colliers in the sector/account.
- Coach practitioners and leadership on sales strategies/tactics for the sector/account.
- Establish a strong brand presence for Colliers in the sector/account through thought leadership, industry engagement, and client relationships.
- Support sector/account pursuits by providing sector/account specific input and guidance.
- Identify opportunities, key accounts and clients and lead priority pursuits in collaboration with the Business Units.
- Support prospecting and competitive pursuits.
- Understand client buying behavior and influence the procurement process.
- Lead sales planning for the sector/account, including service integration.
- Clarify and anticipate sector/account trends and articulate their impact on clients.
- Develop Sector/Account champions in the BUs to collaboratively grow talent and sector/account specific qualifications.
- Identify and work with key experts in BUs to support growth and build qualifications in the sector/account.
- Implement a culture of quality and adherence to our Sales system.
- Drive the integrity, accuracy, and consistency of all data assets within the sector/account.
Requirements
- A minimum of 10 years of experience as a practitioner (consultant or client side) including large multi-year projects and large programs of work having developed a unique technical capability or sector specialization recognized by the industry.
- Practiced in consultative sales; listening to clients, identifying opportunities, knowing what is required to close the sale, and seeing the sale through.
- Is a known industry player and leader across the sector and is well connected with key organizations and clients (target and existing) in the sector.
- An established network of sector contacts and involvement with applicable sector industry and trade associations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, facilitation and presentation skills for all levels of our clients and our own organization, including a proven ability to write winning proposals.
- The ability to project and maintain a positive outlook and demonstrate an energetic disposition.
- Willingness to travel as required.
