About the Role
Bay Area Foot Care is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support physicians and staff by performing clinical and administrative duties. The role focuses on meeting patient needs and ensuring efficient patient flow within the practice.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients on the phone and in person
- Place patients in exam rooms
- Take vital signs
- Assist with and set up for examinations, treatments, and procedures
- Maintain accurate patient files
- Apply dressings, bandages, and splints as ordered by the podiatrist
- Maintain a sanitized and safe working environment
- Maintain HIPAA compliance
- Ensure treatment rooms are stocked with supplies
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned
Requirements
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervision
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of basic medical procedures, such as dressing a wound
- Strong communication skills and active listening abilities
- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
- Strong organizational and clerical skills for maintaining patient files and performing office duties
